Manning River Aero Club

The Manning River Aero Club was formed in 1960, having transferred its training base from the Old Bar Airstrip to the then new Taree Airport.  Initially, training was conducted in the DH-82 Tiger Moth. The club now train pilots in our own modern Cessna 172SP aircraft.

Becoming a member means you become a part owner of the Aero Club.  Membership entitles you to use the Clubhouse facilities, join in our social activities, help out in working bees, participate in our regular flying competitions, and last but by no means least, benefit from discount aircraft hire and training rates.  As a member and pilot licence holder, the Club’s Cessna aircraft is available for you to hire for both local flying, and for trips away.

We have recently updated our club facilities with internal and external painting, a new kitchen with modern appliances, new flooring and a modernised training room with state of the art technology soon to be completed.

We are a member of the Royal Federation of Aero Clubs of Australia, which has a code of reciprocal rights with a network of Aero Clubs that extends throughout Australia.  You may also have the opportunity to represent our Club at the Australian Light Aircraft Championships which are organised by the Federation annually.

The Aero Club is managed by a committee, who are volunteer members elected at our Annual General Meeting.  As a member, you will be eligible to stand for election if you wish.  The Aero Club is a non-profit making organisation, which means that any surplus funds are re-invested in the Club, its facilities, and aeroplanes, ensuring that they are the best available.

Located at Taree airport, we have access to excellent runways, both bitumen and grass, complimented by a picturesque training areas and stunning local scenery. Read more about our local area.
